I've often wondered about the wooden box thing that you and your friend are sitting on in your picture.

It seems so lo-tech and something that might have some astronaut lore behind its use for each mission.

Does it have a story or a tradition?

Thanks.

Wow - good luck with the astronaut gig. I know it is hard work but you only get what you work for.

How did you manage to get a shot in front of Discovery's hatch?

Your blog is absolutely amazing as well as your life. I hope you reach your dreams one day. I would like to be the one who drives the shuttle to the launch pad. My wife said I drive too slow anyway. When the driver gets too old to drive, let me know!
