ERAU here I come!
So I am really excited today because I got a call from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University! They say they have received my application and transcripts from Texas A&M and that I should be hearing from them soon. This was the school I wanted to go to for my undergraduate degree, but financially it just was not feasible. So I completed a year and a half at Houston Community College and then transferred to Texas A&M. I am just glad that I will be able to earn my Master's degree from ERAU because it has always been a school of my choice. As a Boeing employee, I get reimbursed to tuition, so all works out just grand! I have decided that I want to get a masters in Aeronautical Science - Human Factors. They say I should be able to start classes in October. I really hope everything works as planned.

Which campus are you gonna go to? Daytona Beach or Prescott?
I'll be going to a distance learning campus. Actually I am do everything online which works out well. But there is a campus at Patrick Air Force Base.

congratulations! I spent a year at the ERAU Prescott campus with an AFROTC scholarship. It's a great school.
I was at the Cape last week working on the Boeing Delta LPDs. Should have tried to meet you. Maybe next trip!

that is the one good thing about working with Boeing, they cover the class fees.
I hope you succeed in becoming an astronaut, from what little I've seen it looks to be one of the most challenging careers I've ever seen, but also one of the most exciting.

How very refreshing to read about someone chasing their dreams! I am chasing mine as well: to be a theologian. I know, that has got to be wierder than an astronaut, but I enjoy it. I am working out the details of attending Reformed Theological Seminary for my MDiv; a stepping stone to Princeton, Harvard, and Cambridge, all of which are in my future! Sometimes the walk is hard, but oh so fun! BTW, my aunt was an engineer with NASA, and had the unfortunate assignment of informing the White House that the Challenger would explode on take off. Then vice-pres Bush informed her that we couldn't lose face to the Reds, and had to launch anyway. A very sad story, after which my Aunt left and got her law degree from Georgetown. But everyone in the family is a huge space fan, and I wish you the BEST OF LUCK! Charis kai eraine,

I've never posted on your blog before but I stumbled across it today and well... it's great! I'm sure the dots didn't make me look suspicious there as I was hardly gonna say it's rubbish I guess ;) Heheh

Congradulations Damaris. You are focused on a goal that eludes many of us. I too am looking to the future but as a whole change. I am curently on a journey to reinvent myself. I don't now how it will end but all we can do is look forward.
