I started this blog to document the actions I am taking in trying to become an astronaut. It's my ultimate goal, my dream. Every week or so I post a new update to recap the week or add interesting pictures. I hope you enjoy the site and remember to follow your dreams no matter what others may think of them.

Hey "anonymous":
If you don't like it, just navigate someplace else. If you look at the other comments on this blog, there's a whole bunch of us that are enjoying it. If you don't like it, keep the juvenile comments to yourself and take a hike...
Hey DBS, love your site. I added a link to it from my own blog, which I invite you to peruse from time to time. I'm an engineer working on the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, and hope to soon be working on the CEV. Take care, and good luck. mk

This is an amazing picture! Those pilots must of been in awe to be able to witness this from their position! Thank you for sharing it with us!
thats a neat pic.
Cool pic! I have this question. Its human nature to be afraid of what they dont know or understand but in an astronaut's perspective, do you ever get scared of what youre about to go through? do you train for that?
Im fascinated by it so I guess Im just curious...
Pretty cool picture.... awesome stuff.
Nice pictures.
Michelle in answer to your question, I'm training for a challenge which does have some element of the un-known, and just before launch, you get those feelings, but once things start happening, your training takes over.
Awesome story!
Awesome pictures!
Awesome blog!
I love your site so much, that I've added a link to it on my own blog.
I truly think it's great that you're following your dreams and I've read your blog quite often.

Hi Damaris,
I admire your goal very much of being an astronaut. It's good that you can do your degree and get reimbursed from Boeing. I will hope that all your flights be safe ones, and that you realise your dream.
I'm about to reach 50 in a couple of weeks, so I have more modest goals of just becoming a better public speaker. I do this through my local toastmasters group.

See just when I start to skip reading this blog due to the lack of updates... you post an image like this
And totally redeem yourself!
Incredible pic! God is a rocket...

Damaris - go for it! I think a lot of readers (like myself) grew up with that ambition. I can remember, if not the first, the latter moon shots. I always wanted to be one of those guys. It didn't work out for me - but my ambition inspired me to excel in areas that I otherwise may not have. Along the way, I found lots of other things that consumed my passion just as much.
I hope that your plans work out for you, and that you find what you're looking for.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.................

Hey Damaris! I think I've been here a couple of times before but it wasn't until today that I took my time to go through your enties. I admire you not only for your commitment to achieve your goals, but also for your courage and willingness to share this with strangers. Many many people have the misconception that a nobel prize/olympic champion/bigger than life rock star are born already being such things. Truth is they are indeed born but only with the talent and the ambition. The same idiots who post in here stuff like "give it up" are exactly the same idiots who didn't have the vision to see Einstein become "Einstein" when he was flunking math in elementary school. Not everyone has the kind of vision, nedless to say the kind of faith, needed to achieve great things... maybe because they will never achieve such things themselves. Keep up with your good work. If this is what you really really want to achieve, i have no doubt you'll achieve it. And make sure not to erase the negative comments in these entries ;). best, Miguel.
Hey fellow blogger, I like what you've done here. Certainly beats what I'm doing! These are some cool pictures, too. You've got a great dream and it seems that you have the drive, knowledge and other tools to make it a reality. I put your site on my cool links section so others can check it out. Keep pushing at your goals and dreams and I wish you the very best. May God bless you!
I just discovered this blog and I join the others in rooting for you... it is great to have a dream. It is awesome to grow the dream into a plan.
