I started this blog to document the actions I am taking in trying to become an astronaut. It's my ultimate goal, my dream. Every week or so I post a new update to recap the week or add interesting pictures. I hope you enjoy the site and remember to follow your dreams no matter what others may think of them.

- Welcome to my blog! I grew up in California and later attended Texas A&M University to earn a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering. I also hold a Master's degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I previously worked at Kennedy Space Center for Boeing on the Space Shuttle Orbiter's Thermal Protection System. I transitioned to an engineering position with the MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, MA. I applied for the 2009 astronaut candidate program, but unfortunately did not get a call back. I applied again in early 2011 so fingers crossed! I currently am working on continuing my advanced education, involvement with space advocacy, and continuing to do all that I love in life!

I just discovered your blog while on a whim, I decided to Google to see if there are any astronauts with blogs.
Do you take this photos yourself? Your profile does say that you do work at KSC.
The best of luck on applying to become an astronaut. I gave up my own dream at it several years ago, so my only wish now is to see a shuttle launch before it retires. I'll keep checking up on your site, take care!

When is this one set to launch?
First week of December?
I'll be on a family trip to Disney World that week and will try to catch this launch!
Kev, if you'll be around with the family...you definitely don't want to miss a launch. Dec. 6th is the currently scheduled launch date!!!
Woohoo! That's the plan! We'll have to reschedule the Disney Christmas party, but we're there all week - and my father-in-law is a big space geek - so I'm pretty sure we'll catch this launch (my first!) if it goes as planned!
