Below are just some of the Florida travelers that funded their own way to advocate the importance of space exploration with the Citizens for Space Exploration.
Pictured in this photo below are all of the students sponsored to attend this year. We are all very grateful of the opportunity that was given to us to experience this trip and to voice our concerns on the Hill. So..apparently in this picture I see I am the only one showing off their certificate. I thought everyone was doing that! How embarassing. Ha ha!

so is this visit to washington for the advocation of importance of space exploration done regularly every year?who funds you guys in CSE? does NASA support you all?
tell me did you meet space critics there in washington?
whats it like dealing with them..lol..
?? it was a question you know.. :(
Sidd, the CSE is a grassroots organization which mean tax-paying citizens in all different industries have the same common interest of supporting the space program. The travelers pay their own way to attend this trip or they are sponsored by the company they work for. The organization also tries to get sponsors to help with sending students to the D.C trip. This year, I was sponsored by Ensco to attend.
My group primarily had appointments with Colorado representatives/senators and they were all very supportive of backing the NASA budget. However, depending on what district/state you are assigned to, supporting our space program could be hard to sell. But that is the point of this trip. For us to convey the important measure and answer any questions or concerns they have.
hmm..interesting..gotcha...
