A Sad Sunday

Today couldn't have been any more sad. Riley, my dog, died this afternoon after getting hit by a car. He was exactly nine months today. For anyone who has pets out there, you know the bond and love there is for a pet. Actually, they become family; like kids.

Awwwwwwwww Demaris... that is so sad to hear... :o(

Your pet becomes like a best friend... and it's hard when they're gone. My thoughts are with you.. :o(

Damaris, so sorry to hear about your loss. My Collie got hit by a car when I was younger. I know how much it hurts to lose a pet like that.

So sorry about your sweet baby. I'd be the same way if it were one of my kitties. I'll be thinking about you.

Damaris...

I am so sorry to hear about Riley...and I'm especially touched since he was a Westie. 9 months is long enough for you to have developed a very strong bond. My Westie, Mac, died in 2001 but was over 16 when he died. I still haven't been able to start over again -- but perhaps some day I will. I understand your loss, but I'll bet it's even worse since Riley didn't even get to live into full adulthood.

When you feel like it, perhaps you'll like to see Mac's website which has been left in place online. It helps keep him alive in my heart. You can find it at:

I hope your readers can help give you some comfort. I know how dreadful you must feel right now, and I'm so very sorry.

I can imagine things are pretty tough at your house. I feel for you and hope things improve soon. Take it easy and let yourself be sad for a while.

We too out our 6 year old dachshund down for complications from licking lava rocks (Long Story),on June 20th 2005. So we definitely can relate to your pain. It does eventually get better, but mourn on your own time, not anyone elses. Wink wink!
