Atlantis lands at KSC!!!

Today Atlantis landed at runway 15 at KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility. I was out at the runway when the Orbiter landed to perform an overall quick-look inspection of the Thermal Protection System (TPS). The orbiter's TPS was a good condition aside from the minor issues we detected in orbit. Luckily we had awesome weather to be performing this inspection out on the runway.

As a side note, I made it to the Picture Of The Day site on the Lower Merion School District Site: http://www.lmsd.org/pod/

Marco! You got me! Thanks for taking the screen shots. I had so much fun on the runway. If I would have know you guys were going to see me on tv, I would have held up a sign saying hello to my friends in Italy!

Well, it seems to me that we have a bunch of shuttle flights ready to go until 2010.
Just let us posted if you'll have the possibility to be part of the ground crew in future landings.
We'll be on the other side of the screen ;)

Hey, don't forget the rest of Europe! :)

Marco, do you get NASA TV in Italy through air or cable, or just through the net? I had to watch it via net, and when I do so, usually the image starts stuttering close to the landing! I lost this one entirely, only had sound, and had to wait for the reapeats, and YouTube, of course.
